Funny how two people on opposite sides of the planet are concerned about very similar issues! Your “local infocloud” relates to part of my thesis. I am currently doing preliminary fieldwork with a local Australian community and my initial findings have revealed a strong preference for tacit rather than codified information, as you mention above.
