Alan, yes I deeply agree. Experience, beyond using tools, is insanely important. Managing social platforms and having to deal with limitations of services or what to do when communities grow beyond capabilities and need to handle the next natural progressions, is really valuable. There is an incredible breadth across disciplines and depth of understanding needed to just get to have a decent base for thinking through needs and matches of potential solutions for those needs.Many organizations see the downfall from not having that foundational understanding with in the first year. I keep hearing from many organizations using Yammer that one year window is down to about 3 months.
